Today we headed out to Poland for our first visit to Yoshikigoi Koi Farm in 2020 post-covid! It was a 4am start for many of us (earlier for Marcus who left home at 2:30am!). Following the much needed and obligatory Wetherspoons breakfast at Stansted, (it would be rude not to!) we had our first experience of a 'masked-up' socially distanced flight into Poznan, which was surprisingly busy all things considered!
We hired a car at the airport and Pondy took the driving seat this time, with his usual charm - As you can see!
After a couple of hours on the road, we arrived at the Farm in bright sunshine.
It was perfect weather to commence our visit with a walk around the ponds to view this year’s breeding.

While we were at it, we thought we should check out the progress on the new fish house which will hopefully be online in the next few weeks. Exciting stuff!
I then had time to check on a few Koi that I have there for my own personal collection, and to set up arrangements to photograph and bowl fish for those of you who have sent me your shopping lists - Mission accepted!
I have already spotted some amazing Hi Utsuri and Benigoi that I will most definitely be checking out more closely tomorrow. It is going to be a busy and exciting day! In the meantime, here are a few more teasers for you.
There are a number of Koi still inside at the moment – tomorrow we will be bowling and pricing these Koi to sell as we need to empty these tanks to create space for when we harvest this year's breeding in the next few weeks. I am confident that there will be some bargains to be had! I have already put 30 Nisai aside to bring to the UK soon for you.
